In a more general sense, while I think WinXP is a huge upgrade to Win9x/me, I've found very few reasons to upgrade our Win2K machines to XP (cleartype is killer with LCDs, native CDRW support is nice, and Remote Desktop are the only things that jump to mind). WinMe offered very little improvement over 98SE and had many problems, while XP has genuine improvements over 2000, including System Restore, Remote Desktop, Remote Assistance, and for notebook users, ClearType (worth the price right there!) and little things like the ability to remove network cards and other PC

reason I ask this is because the font looks rather grainy when in remote desktop session. There are a few things that affect this. You may have your colour depth set differently on the remote session. - There may be differences in font settings, or effects like cleartype (font smoothing).
